 Philosophy of Children’s Ministry

In addition to equipping children for Christ, Kid Station places emphasis on the importance of equipping parents as well. Our philosophy of children's ministry is that parents play the role as the most influential spiritual leaders for their children. Therefore, our philosophy of children's ministry is actually a philosophy of family ministry. You will find that many of our programs at Kid Station are family-centered. For example, we have a Family Worship Service once a month where both parents and children participate in leading the worship service. We have also shifted our Vacation Bible School from "traditional" VBS to what we call "FAM JAM" -- which is an acronym for "Familly and Me / Jesus and Me." At FAM JAM, both parents and children participate in all of the activities.
Teacher and StudentOur Vision

The vision of Kid Station Children/Family Ministry is based on Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, so when he is old, he will not depart from it." We have also adopted the Deuteronomy 6 principles that exhort parents to take the commands we have been given and "Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." We strongly believe that it is the role of parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their children, and our role as the church to equip them to do so. We see this ministry as a partnership with parents to carry out the five purposes of our children's ministry as defined in our mission statement.
